Tanya Burr Illuminating Powder

Highlighter, it's the one item in my make up bag that I can't live without. I don't mean the fluorescent pens that you use to make your University notes look pretty, I'm talking about that super shiny stuff that you sweep across your cheek bone to give you that flawless glow that everyone craves. I'm very fussy when it comes to choosing highlighters and I've been on the hunt for one that I can use on a daily basis that won't break the bank to replace. When Tanya Burr released her new 'Chasing the Sun' range, consisting of contour sticks, lip balms, and illuminating powers, I was straight onto Feel Unique and placed an order. I bought the illuminating powder in the shade 'Peonies Please' and I'm going to give you a little review on it. 

When I opened my little parcel from Feel Unique (which arrived super quickly, may I add), I noticed the packaging of the product straight away. It looked really professional and unlike any other highlighter or illuminating powder that is available at the moment. It was one of those things that I just knew was going to be so instagramable and I started taking photos for my blog straight away. The marble effect on the powder is gorgeous and the colour is extremely vivid. I should mention that there are two other shades of this powder, but I like my highlighter to have a pop of colour so I chose this one due to its natural pink tint. 

My first impression of the illuminating powder was that it was easy to apply, felt super soft and lightweight on the skin and was easily blendable; perfect for every makeup look. I apply this to the tops of my cheeks and have started to use it as both a highlight and a blush for my everyday, natural, 'no makeup' makeup look. When I wake up in the morning, I like to have a few extra minutes in bed and this product has made doing my makeup so much easier; it makes my skin look really glowy and beautiful and I'm loving using it at the moment. It's in my top 10 beauty favourites of the Summer. Is there really anything Tanya Burr can't do?!

Summer Style | Dots & Crop Tops

Another post about my visit to Bakewell, but this time about my outfit. I absolutely loved what I wore to explore the town, it was the perfect balance between stylish and comfortable which is why I thought it warranted its own blog post. This outfit was inspired by the lovely Tanya Burr. I saw her wearing something similar and fell in love with it so decided to re-create the look myself. I recently went to Topshop with my Mum and saw these dotty trousers in the sale. I'd had my eye on them for a while, so when I saw that they'd been reduced I couldn't resist treating myself. I was unsure about how they'd look at first as I'm quite self-conscious of how my figure looks in this sort of thing. I paired the trousers with a plain white crop top, black converse, my grey rucksack and silver hooped earrings and I think it looks super cute. It's really casual and comfy, perfect for a day shopping with the girls or exploring cute little villages. 

The thing I love the most about these trousers is that you can wear them casually and also for a night out or a special occasion. I recently wore them for my Dad's birthday meal with a black bodysuit,  black heels and a black clutch and it looked really elegant. It was Audrey Hepburn inspired and I felt very classy when I wore it. I'm absolutely loving the wide leg trouser style at the moment and I think it's a staple item for both Summer and Autumn wardrobes.

Love Tanya by Tanya Burr

Tanya Burr is a YouTuber, blogger and beauty enthusiast who publishes a video on YouTube each week, whether it be baking, beauty, fashion or lifestyle related. Along with her own line of cosmetics, her debut book was set to be a hit from the moment it was announced; something she can add to her many successes. 

When I first found Tanya's book, I didn't really know what to expect. I couldn't imagine her writing a book and it not being an autobiography; how can someone write a book about themselves yet it not be classed as an autobiography? Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. You could open 'Love Tanya' on any page and there will always be something interesting for you to read.

Tanya tells us about her early life and offers fashion and beauty advice, giving her top ten tips on how to look after your hair and her essential things for her make-up bag. As well as telling people about YouTube and answering some viewer questions, Tanya also offers relationship advice, recommends some of her favourite baking recipes and talks about travelling to different places. The reader can also get involved in the book too by writing down some of their hopes and dreams, favourite products and favourite places to travel. In a nutshell, it's just the perfect book; there's something there for everyone. 

As you can tell, there's a lot of different things included but one chapter that really stood out to me is the 'Confidence and Happiness' chapter. If you're a viewer of Tanya's channel, you'll be familiar with her positive, happy personality. In this particular chapter, she tells you how she stays positive, how she deals with anxiety and gives some tips as to how we can be more confident in ourselves. This chapter really makes you feel a sense of confidence and positivity after reading and it was such a lovely addition to the book. 

'Love Tanya' is a book you can read over and over again without it getting boring. The images are of such high quality and they look absolutely beautiful, Tanya is truly stunning. It's definitely clear that this book was written by and belongs to Tanya Burr; it has her name and personality written all over it. After reading it, you come away with the positive and happy feeling that Tanya always seems to have. Please, if you do anything, go and purchase this book. You will not regret it; it's an essential book for every girl!
