What I Got For Christmas 2017

I can't believe that Christmas has been and gone!
I hope you all had a lovely day eating lots of yummy food, drinking gin and spending time with your loved ones. I had a quiet Christmas with my parents and grandparents but that's how we like it, and rest assured that it was full of nothing but love, laughter and pigs in blankets.

Last year I did a post telling you all about the things I got for Christmas and surprisingly, it went down really well - it's one of my most viewed posts of all time. So, I thought I'd do it again this year. When it came to my Christmas list, I didn't ask for much - it was mainly just stuff that I'd use and wouldn't be shoved in a cupboard. I think the main things I asked for was my Effaclar skincare and some more of my trusty foundation from Boots.

However, Santa thought he'd treat me to some other things and I have been the luckiest little lady this year. I've been well and truly spoiled by my loved ones, and I obviously spoiled them in return. You'll be glad to know there are no trips to London this year, but we're taking Dad to see Jersey Boys on tour and Mum's got a Fitbit (she won't stop walking up and down the living room and it's driving me mad).

I wasn't expecting a 'main' present this year as I hadn't asked for anything big and I treated myself to a new iPhone earlier this month. So, you can imagine my surprise when I unwrapped one of many Pandora bags. My Mum and Dad got me a Pandora bracelet last year and since then I've been after some spacers to separate the charms. I would've got them sooner but I haven't been able to afford them. Very kindly, Mum and Dad got me Mickey and Minnie clip-on spacers to go on my bracelet and I am so in love. I'd been looking at these charms for months and Mum had always talked me out of getting them, at one point she told me that she thought they were scruffy and looked cheap. Now I understand why. They make my charm bracelet look complete and I've officially started my Disney Pandora collection.

Along with the charms, I got this beautiful leather bag. It's available to buy when you purchase some of the Disney charms and it's perfect for any Disney fan. Mum said that when she saw it, she couldn't say no. It's only small, so would be perfect for my next Disney trip - whenever that may be. It comes with a strap so it can be used as both a clutch or an over the shoulder bag, and the little box it comes in is just the cutest thing ever.

Pandora was full of freebies and because my parents spent a certain amount of money, they got this limited edition Pandora Christmas Bell. It's white with little snowflakes engraved on the sides and it says 'Pandora 2017' on the front. It can be hung on the tree or over the door and it's the perfect keepsake to remember a productive yet challenging year - it's definitely been a year full of change. I love how subtle the decoration is, I'm pretty sure you could keep this up whatever time of the year.

If you know me well, you'll know that I'm obsessed with jumpers. I have a wardrobe full of them - every style and every colour. I think they're the perfect item for any winter wardrobe and I was super excited when I opened this beautiful, orange jumper from M&S. I've had my eye on this for months and this was another one of those presents that I wasn't expecting. I've already had it on (I wore it on Boxing Day) and it's the warmest, cosiest jumper I own. Be expecting it to feature in a post in 2018.

I love gin. There I said it.
From the moment I finished work on Christmas Eve to the minute I went to bed on Boxing Day, gin was the main beverage that was consumed. I'd happened to mention to my parents that I'd like some gin for Christmas and I was just expecting a bottle of Gordons. However, they went a step further and got me the 'Gin House' collection featuring some of my favourite gins with the flavoured tonic that they should be paired with. I think I'll crack that one open at New Year.

Last year, I really struggled to get a diary. I like my diaries to be a day a page and each night before I go to bed, I make sure that I write about my day. I've found that it's helped my anxiety as my diary is a personal place where I can write my thoughts and feelings, plus it's fun to look back on in a few years time. My Mum and Dad got me this pretty pale blue diary and I can't wait to start writing about my adventures in 2018.

It's not Christmas without chocolate. It's tradition for my parents to get me a box of my favourite Lindor chocolate and a Cadbury's selection box - the popping candy Freddo has been a personal highlight. I haven't finished all of the chocolate yet, I'm trying to save it as it only feels appropriate to have Lindor at Christmas.

Something I asked for was my La Roche Posay Effaclar skincare products. I've been using these for over two months now, after my dermatologist recommending them to me. I know that you need to give them a bit of time to work and so far, I've been seeing very positive results. It's on the expensive side, more than I would normally spend on my skincare routine, however, it's working and it just goes to show that you get what you pay for. If you're looking for some products to help your problematic skin then I highly recommend this stuff.

I didn't ask for much make up this Christmas as I've pretty much got everything I need at the moment. I've also got nowhere to store my products so more make up was the last thing I needed. I've been running out of my trusty No.7 Stay Perfect foundation and my Soap & Glory Supercat liquid liner, so I was really happy when I unwrapped these. No matter how many foundations or liquid liners I try, I always find myself coming back to these two.

And now back to Pandora. My Grandma and Grandad got me this stunning Belle charm for my bracelet. They know that every time I pass the Pandora shop, I always have to go in and look at the charms and I've had my eye on this one for months. It's such a pretty little charm and the detail is immaculate. Belle is one of my favourite Princesses as I relate to her imagination and love of books. When I was in school, I was bullied for being a bookworm but Belle helped me to realise that reading doesn't make you weird - if Belle could do it then so could I. It was such a heart-warming surprise and I can't begin to tell you how lucky I feel to have received such beautiful gifts.

I've added another Disney film to my collection and it had to be my favourite Princess, Snow White. I collect the DVD's in the shiny cases and I've always wanted to add the first Princess to my collection. Receiving this was such a surprise and it had a lot of sentimental value. My Grandma and Grandad introduced me to Snow White and it's because of them that I love her so much. They used to watch the film on repeat with me after school and I hope that we can all sit with a hot chocolate and watch it together over the Christmas break.

Another gift with sentimental value is this beautiful gold chain. I don't know if any of you have ever noticed, but I always wear a necklace with the letter 'M' on it. My Grandparents bought it for me for my 18th Birthday and since then I've never taken it off. However, the other week the original chain snapped and I was GUTTED. It may only be a small, thin necklace but not wearing it makes me feel empty - it's become a part of who I am. I'm so lucky that they bought me a new chain and I feel complete again now that I can wear my necklace.

I got through beauty blenders like there is no tomorrow. As much as I wash them, they just don't last long so this pack of Real Techniques beauty blenders was definitely appreciated. I love the fact that I received gifts that I'm going to put to good use - and if you haven't tried out these beauty blenders yet then where have you been? They're the best!

And for my final present from my Grandma and Grandad, they very kindly got me a bottle of my favourite gin. Like I said, I love gin but my favourite will always be Hendricks - it's a classic. I only ever have Hendricks when I go on a night out, so being able to make my favourite gin at home is amazing. I'm so grateful as I know that Hendricks isn't cheap. Plus, when I've used the bottle, I'm going to put some flowers in it and use it as a quirky vase.

I took part in a few secret Santa gift exchanges this year. I love doing this sort of thing as my favourite thing to do at Christmas is buy presents for other people. From my blogging secret Santa kindly organised by Beth, I received a Gin & Tonic making set which includes a measurement glass (something I definitely need), a Little Miss Sunshine travel mug and some Beauty and the Beast bath petals. It's very clear that my secret Santa knows me well, but I'm yet to find out who it was, so if you sent me these lovely gifts then let me know so I can personally say thank you.

The next secret Santa was from my lovely friend Tori who I go to Uni with. We've spent many nights in the library stressing over deadlines and watching videos of puppies so I'm surprised I didn't guess that she had me. Knowing me as well as she does, she got me a 'Gin & Bear It' coaster, a Beauty and the Beast purse and a huge book of 624 things to write about (something I'll be needing when I'm struggling for inspiration next semester).

And for my final secret Santa from a member of the lovely Disney community. I received a beautiful Tangled plaque featuring my favourite scene from the film, a Briar Rose bow which I'll be wearing in a Disney Bound and a Seven Dwarves pencil case which I'm either going to use for Uni or as a makeup bag. It's clear that everything has been handmade and I can't help but feel so fortunate to be surrounded by so many talented, generous people.

I've mentioned it a few times on the blog, but I absolutely love my job. And more than my job, I love the people I work with. I didn't expect my bosses to get me anything this year but they went above and beyond and handed me a box containing a UGG scarf and hat. I was overwhelmed by their generosity and I feel very lucky to work with people who treat me like family.

And finally from my close friend and work colleague Sarah. We always have the best laughs in work and from her, I received a personalised gin glass (no one is getting hold of that) and two cans of Gordon's G&T. It was the perfect gift and another gin to add to my ever-growing collection. From the amount of gin I received, you'd think that I really, really liked it or something...

I also received some more chocolate and more gin (obviously). I've been so incredibly lucky this year and I can't thank everyone enough for their kindness, support and generosity. I feel so loved and I'm ready to start the New Year surrounded by the people who mean the most to me. If you've done a post showing everything you got for Christmas then link it in the comments as I'd love to have a nosy!

Lots of Love,
Meg

A Letter To 10 Year Old Me

Dear 10-Year-Old Me,
You're sat at the table in the restaurant of your favourite hotel in Blackpool. You're wearing your new navy blue skirt with a tiara sparkling on your head, giving a big cheesy grin to the camera as you tilt your head to the side. You have the most beautiful smile, and you should wear it more often. It's one of the only things about you that won't change. I can see the pride in Mum's eyes as she smiles back at you, and her pride in you will only continue to grow because you're going to achieve amazing things little one.
You are such a clever little girl with so much potential. Sure, you might be the tallest girl in school with thin legs and knees that look like wool on cotton but you need to be true to yourself. It'll serve you well. Enjoy being as carefree as you are now because it's all stress from here but you'll get through it. There'll be challenges up ahead but you're stronger than you seem, and there'll be more good moments than bad, I promise.

You'll leave all of your friends behind to go to secondary school, I know you're not thinking about that now but you've got it all to come. Trust in fate. It will be tough on you, and people will try to dull your sparkle but keep your head down, keep dreaming and it'll soon pass. They're just jealous of how effortlessly intelligent you are. But you need to tell someone when they start drawing over your work and throwing your things out of the window, you don't need to deal with that. Never listen to the names they call you or the things they say about you, don't waste your tears on them. It will knock your confidence, but you'll soon get back up.
You'll work hard and pass all of your exams with flying colours, although you'll stress yourself out beforehand and you'll wonder if you have any more tears left to cry. When it's all over, you'll celebrate in style and turn out to be a real party person. I know you don't want to get up and dance now because you think everyone is looking at you, but soon they won't be able to get you off that dance floor.

You'll also meet your first crush. Yep, I know boys seem gross now but it'll all change. He'll be in your form and you'll spend your days thinking about him, but nothing will ever come from it. Sorry, kiddo. You'll always have a soft spot for him though, and when you see him at a party a few years down the line, all the feelings will come flooding back and you'll still get butterflies. It's never going to go well with males, and you'll soon realise that they're no good. You'll get your heart broken but you just keep on wishing and he'll come along eventually. Snow White got her Prince and you will too, one day.

In no time at all, you'll be 13. An unlucky number for some, but it'll be the start of something new for you. Just make sure you treat your Mum with a bit more respect, she's only trying to help you after all. Also, please don't let Dad take you to the hairdressers and let them put a bowl on your head. 'Coconut Head' is not a cool nickname to have. It's the age you'll realise that girls are cruel. They'll drag you down and make fun of you but you just keep spreading kindness. It's a good thing to be remembered for. However, they're not all that bad. You know Liv who lives on the same road as Mambly and Grandad? The girl you play out with all the time? Well, you're still friends 10 years down the line. You're currently the best of friends in your twenties and causing more havoc than ever. She's a good egg and you're really lucky to have her around; in the next ten years, you won't be able to get rid of her.

When you're 15 you'll meet one of the most inspirational women. She'll come in the form of your drama teacher and she'll send your confidence shooting sky high. How lucky are you to have someone so amazing to help you to achieve your dreams? You've always been such a drama queen, so it's no wonder you'll take lead roles in the school productions and you'll be absolutely amazing. Can you see how proud everyone is going to be? You have a strong talent there kiddo and you need to follow that passion even when people doubt you. Prove them wrong. Show them what you can do. You're a shining star, I just wish you could see how special you are.

As I write this to you, you're currently studying writing at University. You've moved away from home and made a whole bunch of new friends, although it hasn't been easy and you've had some setbacks along the way. You love Disney now more than you ever could, and you've finally managed to convince Mum and Dad for that little companion you always wanted. At this moment I know you want to be a beautician/hairdresser and although this isn't the career path you decide to take, you'll manage to work for Walt Disney Company and you're in a job now that you love more than anything, with people who are like your second family. I look at that little girl smiling and I'm so proud of the young woman you've become. The bullies will make you feel like you are not worthy of happiness but you will tower above them. Remember that beauty is only skin deep, and that you are so beautiful even when you don't feel like you are. Remember that it's okay to have bad days and you are entitled to them. Remember that you are worth more than any male who thinks he can take advantage of you. Believe that you can and you will.
Keep wishing on those stars and don't lose your beautiful imagination. Keep dreaming, keep believing and remember that the happiest girls are the prettiest.

Love,
A 20-Year-Old You

Lots of Love,
Meg xo

Summer Dreaming

Summer is almost here!
It makes me so happy to say that it's almost time for barbecues, pretty sunsets and late nights spent drinking cider in the beer garden. I don't know about anyone else, but I always seem to make plans for the summer and then never actually fulfill them. I say that I'll got to the beach for a day with my friends and then never actually get around to it, but I'm going to make sure that it happens this year.

I saw Louise (Sprinkle of Glitter) do something similar to this on her blog and I really liked the whole idea of making a list of all the things you'd like to achieve over the summer. Taking inspiration from this blog post, I'm going to make a list of all the things I want to complete over the summer; and some are very silly so you'll have to bare with me.

My Summer Listings

Start working on a novel
Read more books
Take more time out for myself
Paint my nails different colours
Actually be able to stand up on a surfboard
Wear my hair naturally
Go on a picnic
Have a barbecue
Learn how to play the ukulele
Legally drink cider at the Boardmasters
Vlog our exciting adventures
Take more photos
Re-decorate my bedroom
Get a double bed
Go to a coffee shop and read/write
Go to London (Hyde Park)
Visit and explore Wales
Drink more water
Smile at people
Take Gran and Grandad for Lunch
Bake cakes
Have a day at the beach playing rounders

What would you like to achieve over the summer?

Lots of Love,
Meg

Weekly Update │ Meditation, Eye Tests & Sunshine

07/05/2016 - 13/05/2016

This year is going so quickly, and it's only dawned on me this past week. I have a month left of being an 18 year old; I'm growing up and I really don't want too. I've had a lot of time to reflect this week; trying to find out who I am again and get back on track with positivity. A lot of you really enjoyed reading my 'Late Night Ramblings' post from the other week, and that means so much to me. I really appreciate all the love and support I got because of it; and I'm also really glad some of you agreed with what I had to say!

│Loving│
I've been seriously loving the whole chill vibe this week. We went to the Kadampa Meditation Centre in Ulverston at the weekend and it was so peaceful and calming. I've spoken about it on my blog before, but every time I return it still makes me feel so content with life. I spent most of my day walking through the forest and sat on the beach with my writing journal. It was so peaceful to sit and listen to the waves crash against the pebbles as I wrote down some inspiration for new stories that I'm planning. It's so nice to be writing things that I want to write and not to please my lecturers; it made me realise why I'm doing the degree I chose and how much I love it.

I also went to go and get my eyes tested this week, and ended up paying £50 (which I don't have) for new glasses. After making me look at a balloon whilst they puffed air into my eye, and falling off the chair, we established that I am more blind than I was two years ago and that my eye sight is pretty shocking for my age. But it was all worth it in the end because I loved being able to pick out new glasses; it's one of the things I look forward too each year (I know, how sad!).

│Hating│
Despite being able to go and do some meditation at the Buddhist Temple this week, I've been feeling pretty low. I have periods when I'm the happiest little ray of sunshine, but mostly at night when I'm in bed and over thinking, I just put myself in a really bad mood. I need to get myself out of this habit and accept that what happens in life happens for a reason.

Results day was announced this week, and I'm very very nervous to see what the tutors thought of my writing. Even to this day, I hate sharing my writing with people so I'm dreading to hear what they all think about it. Speaking of University, I really don't want to have to leave my flat. That room is my room; it's seen me cry, be happy and stumble in after spending a night at the Pilgrim. It makes me feel weird that someone else is going to be in that room next year, like get off my turf.

│Listening│
The weather has been beautiful this week, so my summer playlist has made a return. I've been spending a lot of my time sat in the garden with my speaker playing the best summer tunes. My personal favourite this week has been the new single from Justin Timberlake 'Can't Stop the Feeling'. It's such a feel good summer song; it makes me want to get up and have a boogie.

│Wearing│
My shorts and dresses have made a return this week, I've been getting my legs out to try and get started with a little bit of a tan. I'm so happy I've been able to get my summer wardrobe back out again; I always feel prettier in summer clothes, is that just me?

│Eating│
Jacket potatoes.
Why didn't I discover these things before? I mean I knew that existed but oh my goodness they are beautiful creations. I've been eating so many of them this week, I'm surprised I haven't turned into one myself. This is another sign I'm turning into an old woman; I'm obsessing over jacket potatoes. Someone help, please.

│Feeling│
Proud. My friend told me this week that she's making a big life choice and is considering starting University after taking a year out. I can't put into words how proud I am of her; it takes a lot of guts to do what she's doing and I just hope it's all she wants it to be and that all of her dreams come true!

│Moment│
The highlight of this week has been being able to meditate at the Kadampa Centre. It was such a beautiful experience, and I would do it over and over again if I could. I just like being able to sit, relax and let all my worries melt away for a little while.

Here's to a better week next week!

Lots of Love,
Meg

Late Night Ramblings

It's currently half past midnight, I should be in bed, but instead I'm sat here writing a blog post for you. When I say I'm writing a blog post for you, I think I mean me; I'm writing a post to get my thoughts down somewhere. Maybe my blog isn't the best place to do this, but I write everything on here so surely it makes sense right? I don't even know if I'm going to publish this (we'll read it back in the morning and see).

The inspiration for this blog post came when a family friend kept questioning me as to why I'm not currently in a relationship. When I told her that I was single, she looked at me like I was strange and then asked me why. I'll be truthful, I didn't have a reply, because frankly the answer to that question is unknown to me. It's not something I had a valid answer for. But despite that, it really made me think about things (be prepared for this blog post to get pretty deep very quickly)...

I log onto social media and splashed over my timeline are my friends all happy and loved up in their 2-3 year relationships. I on the other hand spend my time posting photos of my dog, pretty sunsets and updating my family on what I'm doing. Besides the point, but it made me think; why am I not doing what my friends are doing? Why am I not posting all about my happy relationships on social media? Am I not normal? Should I go out and date the next guy I find attractive? No, no I shouldn't. But why am I not in a happy relationship with someone? Why am I not going on dates with different guys like my friends are?
I pondered this question for a while, and the I realised. The reason I'm not currently dating anyone at the moment, or in a relationship, is because I'm not ready. I think that before you allow someone else to love you, you need to learn how to love yourself. It's sad for me to say, but I really don't love myself at the moment.

We all have bad days; those days when we hate every little inch of ourselves, but this 'day' seems to be lasting forever for me. I've never been someone to be bothered about my appearance, and during my time at Sixth Form, I gained so much confidence in myself. I was happy in my own skin, and couldn't wait to go to Uni to further this confidence and build new friendships. I got to Uni and it was like I was kicked back to square one; I was ridiculed and made to feel pathetic by someone who was meant to be supporting me and my dreams. It made me more aware of myself and the things that I don't like. I always listened to people when they said that 'your flaws make you who you are' and 'your flaws are never noticed by other people' but for someone to point out the things that are wrong with me made me realise that maybe people do notice imperfections. Are my imperfections the thing that people notice first about me?

When this particular person at University pointed these things out about me, it made other people laugh at me. To walk into a room and know that everyone thought you were a weirdo, to know that people looked at the things that were wrong with you before they even got to know you as a person really hurt me. I struggled to make new friendships at Uni because no one wanted to know me; the weird girl who everyone laughed at. My confidence was shattered. I'd been built up to a certain level of confidence; being around people who accepted me for who I am and enjoyed being around me. I had the best year last year because of this confidence, but now it's just ruining me.

Everyone has insecurities, and I'm not for one second saying that I have it worse than everyone else because I probably don't, I just want to write this to get it down somewhere. I'm feeling better for it. Right now, if you asked me what I like about myself, I don't think I could tell you one thing. I want to get back to loving myself the way I did this time last year, but I don't see anything to love. Most people know that I have acne, and that's where things started. That was the first thing someone pointed out about me; and then this spiraled into me worrying about weight, clothes and now even small things like my teeth and my laugh and smiling. I compare myself to every other person I see; 'look at them, don't they have a pretty smile', 'look at her hair, its so lovely', 'wow, shes so pretty'. I guess that maybe, they're insecure too, I mean most people are insecure about something. I don't know where this is going, I really don't.

When I'm around other people, I try to keep this confident, positive and happy vibe up because it's who I was this time last year and I don't want people to think I've changed. But this confidence I had has just completely gone and I don't know how to get it back. I want to be happy again, and be the person I was this time last year. So happy, confident and content with the way life was going.

Reading this back, it sounds like I'm trying to make people feel sorry for me, and believe me I'm not. I don't want sympathy from anyone. But I guess what I'm trying to say is that thinking about me and taking time to reflect on the way I perceive myself has made me realise that I can't let anyone love me before I learn to love myself again. I want to build up that level of confidence that I had this time last year, I want to be happy in my own skin again. And I will be happy, I'm determined to be happy.

Also, lets just take a moment to re-assure me, and all the other people out there who feel the same way I do because I know I'm not alone, that you don't have to be doing what all of your friends are doing. Focus on loving yourself, doing what you want to do and then everything else will fall into place. You are the most important thing.

I'm sorry if this upset anyone, I never intended for it too. It's late and I'm rambling. I should sleep now.

Lots of Love

A New Adventure...

For a very long time, YouTube has been something I've wanted to try. I don't know what it is about it, but sitting in my bedroom and speaking in front of a camera seemed pretty fun. However, I didn't want to do it alone; I'm not confident enough to do something like that without someone by my side.

So, who better to create a YouTube channel with than my best friend Liv?!
Wait what? Have we created a YouTube Channel?? Yes. Yes we have! It was something that happened very quickly; we filmed out first video and created our channel all on the same night. The aim for us is to make videos and vlog our daily lives in order to share them with whoever wants to watch. We make each other laugh so hopefully we make you laugh too!

Today, May 1st 2016, we uploaded our first video to our new YouTube channel, and it would mean so much to both of us if you could watch, like, comment, subscribe and all that jazz! We filmed the 'Most Likely To' Tag video thing and it was so much fun to film. It includes sing-songs, bloopers and a lot of laughs!

Let me know what you think!

London & Jersey Boys

When it came to finding something to get my mum for Christmas, I didn't just want it to be something she'd expect. I didn't want her to look at the shape of the present and think 'It's that top I saw in New Look the other week'. So, when I came up with the idea to go to London for the day, I knew it was what had to be done. I booked our trains in early November, and as a little extra treat, I also booked for us both to go and see Jersey Boys. It's a musical that we've both wanted to see for so long, so I was very very excited, to say the least. Then it was the wait until Christmas day.

I handed my mum the train tickets and the theatre tickets in a little red envelope on Christmas day, and it's very safe to say she was shocked. I think she really liked the fact that she didn't expect the whole thing. And the best part was, that when she got the tickets, we were only three days away from going! We've been listening to the Jersey Boys soundtrack since.

Last week, at 5am, we woke up and headed to the train station to catch our train to London. We were both very very excited. I hadn't been to London in just over two years so was very much looking forward to going back and taking in the beautiful surroundings of the city. I fell asleep on the train there, but let me just tell you how much I love Virgin Trains. They are like a plane that doesn't fly. I wish all trains were like Virgin Trains.

Anyway, after a two hour train journey, or in my case, a two hour sleep, we arrived in a very quiet London. It was 9am so I'm not very surprised. Then, Mum and I had the challenge of actually trying to find the theatre where we would be watching Jersey Boys. Mum refused to let me use the sat-nav on my phone, and instead told me that she knew the way; she didn't. We were up and down little back streets, and what should have been a half an hour journey took us about an hour, but we got to see where Great Ormond Street was, which was the only perk of the walk. Soon enough, we found the theatre, and my excitement started to flutter around in my tummy.

By this time, it was about 10am, and as the show only started at 3pm, we had some time to kill. We decided to head to Oxford Street and do some shopping. The minute I saw the beautiful blue screens of Hollister, I dragged mum straight inside. It was three floors, THREE FLOORS! And let me tell you, it smelt absolutely beautiful. I also got a very nice bargain in the sale, I'm starting my summer wardrobe early.

We then headed further down the street, and I came across a little alleyway that was decorated with lights. It said 'Carnaby Street'. Being a girl who is constantly on Instagram, I'd seen this a couple of times but I didn't really understand the hype about it. but let me tell you now, it is the cutest little street ever. I didn't even feel like I was in London. Mum explained to me a little bit of history about the street, I took some pretty photos, and then we headed back into Oxford Street. We started to walk down, and had a browse in places such as Topshop, New Look and Miss Selfridge, but I found it very hard to shop. I hate shopping in sales when everything is jumbled, it's the worst. We then took a little break and went for a coffee. I'd never been to Oxford Street, and from what I'd seen so far, I really wasn't impressed. I just didn't understand what everyone loved about it.

We all know that Disney is my life, and I'd heard a lot of things about the Disney Store on Oxford Street so I was on the hunt to find that. The further we walked, the more Oxford Street became pretty. The beautiful street decorations glistened in the sunlight, and the lights on the Christmas Trees sparkled. It was perfect. Then, I found the Disney Store. It was beautiful. Two floors of pure Disney-ness, Cinderella's Carriage and a talking Storm Trooper. It's safe to say I didn't want to leave. We had a wander around for a little while and then continued on our journey back down Oxford Street.

Now, this is the Oxford Street I wanted to see. The Oxford Street I loved. We passed House of Fraser and then we came across Selfridges. Mum and I are massive fans of the show Mr Selfridge, so we let out a little squeal and headed through the doors of the most famous shop in London. Mum started to sing the theme tune of the show, and then said 'Good Morning Mr Selfirdge' to every single male employee she saw. I honestly can't take her anywhere. But Oh My, Selfridges is amazing! It's like another world, so many gorgeous things. And the escalators, they're flat and then all of  sudden they just rise. Everyone needs to up their game if they want to be anything like Selfridges.

When we'd finished walking around the many many floors, and looking at things that we definitely couldn't afford, we decided to take a stroll back to the theatre. In the build up to watching Jersey Boys, the album had been on repeat, and I knew the words to 60% of the songs. We were a little early to the theatre, so we took our place and waited for the show to begin. I sang and danced in my chair the whole way through. We were sat in the Grand Circle, and I was a bit apprehensive at first, because after reading reviews online, they had said that you couldn't see much. I just didn't want the day to be ruined for Mum. Honestly, we saw everything that went on. It was well worth the price. I'm not going to spoil anything, but Jersey Boys will make you laugh, smile and cry. It's my favourite musical...EVER!

We emerged from the theatre, just wanting to dance and sing down the street which was lit by the beautiful Christmas Lights. We then decided to head down to Trafalgar Square. I'm very scared of pigeons, so we thought it'd be best to visit it at night time when they've all gone to bed. It was beautiful. We sat by the fountains for a little while, watching them change colour and it was so peaceful. We then went to see Buckingham Palace, Leicester Square and many different theatres such as the Palladium, Her Majesty's Theatre and the Apollo Theatre. The day was coming to an end, and we ended it the only way we knew how; in McDonalds. We couldn't get into cafés anywhere so it was the only place we could find, and we were very very hungry.

We got back to Euston Station, and had a short wait until our train was called. We then hoped back onto the train and headed for home, eating our sandwiches and falling asleep straight away Very tired, we stumbled back into Wigan Station after the most wonderful day in London.

Here are some photos I managed to take of the day!

2016 Resolutions & Dreams

Can you believe it's 2016?!
There's nothing I love more than a new year; a fresh start. It's the only time in the year where people are actually motivated to change things in their life and I think that's a lovely thing. Some people don't believe in making resolutions at the beginning of a new year, they say it's pointless, and most of the time it is, but there's something satisfying about setting yourself a challenge for the year. It really gives you some motivation. I'm one of those people who sets a different resolution each year. I did a similar post to this one last year, and looking back, I completed a lot of my hopes and dreams, most of them were very unexpected; like our trip to Disneyland Paris.

So, in order to carry on tradition, I thought I'd share my resolutions, hopes and dreams with you for 2016. I can't wait to see what the new year brings!

Where Have You Been?

It's been about three weeks since I last posted on this blog, and I've really really missed it.
I always said that I'd post a lot on here because I was studying writing at Uni, but since my assignments have been flooding in, I haven't even had chance to prepare one single blog post and that upsets me a lot. So, first, I would like to say that I'm sorry. I promise I'm going to post so much on here in the next few weeks! It's been so hectic with Uni, and then work. If you didn't know, I currently work for Disney Store; it's been a job I've wanted since I was a little girl so it really means the world to be to be able to say that once in my life, I worked for the Walt Disney Company. When Uni finished, I was then whisked home to spend time with my family who I haven't seen in a very long time and then it was Christmas! It's been insane!

The next thing I'd like to say is Merry Christmas!! I can't believe how quickly this year has passed, I mean it only seems like two seconds ago when I was writing my blog post about the highlights of 2014, and now I'm in the process of writing about my favorite parts of this year. I hope you all had a really lovely Christmas, I know I did. I got some really lovely presents and was able to spend the day with my family and friends, which meant the world to me. I got some amazing beauty products for Christmas, so keep your eyes peeled for some reviews coming in the New Year!

So, for now, what I'd like to say, is that I'm back and blogging again and to be expecting a lot of blog posts in the coming months. I'm really excited to get back blogging again, and I hope you guys continue to enjoy the posts as much as I love writing them!

Lots of Love,
